Quickstart Guide
Welcome to Metric Might. The fastest way to understand why agencies switch to us is to run a query and see the speed for yourself.
You can watch the 2-minute walkthrough below, or follow the written steps.
Before You Start: Connect Your Data Sources
Metric Might needs access to your ad platforms before it can pull data. You can do this in one of two ways:
- From the Connections page: Go to Connections in the left sidebar and click Add Data Source. Authenticate with your platform (e.g. your Google Ads account or Meta account). This grants Metric Might access to all ad accounts associated with that login — you do not need to authenticate once per client account.
- Directly inside the Query Builder: If you haven’t connected a source yet, you can authenticate without leaving the query setup screen. Metric Might will prompt you when you reach the Data Source step.
Step 1: Open the Query Builder
After signing up, Metric Might drops you straight into the split-screen Queries page. Your query setup sidebar is on the right; an embedded live Google Sheet is on the left. Everything happens here — no context switching required.
To start a new query at any time, click New Query at the bottom of the sidebar.
Step 2: Set Your Destination
Under the Destination section at the top of the sidebar:
- Grant Metric Might permission to access Google Sheets when prompted — this is a one-time step.
- Use the Google Picker to select an existing spreadsheet, or create a new one.
- Choose the specific Sheet tab and the starting cell (e.g.
A1).
The embedded Sheet on the left will update to reflect your selection.
Step 3: Connect Your Data Source & Account
Under the Data Source section:
- Select a platform you have already connected (e.g. Google Ads, Meta Ads), or click to connect a new one inline.
- Once authenticated, select the specific Ad Account you want to pull data for.
Step 4: Build Your Query
With your Sheet and Ad Account linked, configure your report using the sections below in the sidebar:
- Date Ranges: Select a preset (e.g. Last 30 days, Last X years) or enter a custom start and end date. You can add multiple date ranges to a single query.
- Metrics: Select the performance data you want — e.g.
Spend,Impressions,Conversions. - Dimensions: Choose how your data is broken down. Any dimension can be applied as:
- Row Dimensions — breaks down data vertically (e.g. one row per Campaign per Day).
- Column Dimensions — pivots the breakdown across columns instead.
- Filters, Sorting & Options: Use the lower sections to filter for specific campaigns, sort by highest spend, or configure other output options.
Step 5: Run Your Query
Click Apply at the bottom of the sidebar. Metric Might fetches data directly from the ad platform’s API and populates your embedded Google Sheet in seconds — no server queue, no waiting behind other users.
Step 6: Automate the Refresh
Once your query is exactly right, set it to refresh automatically. You can do this from two places:
- Schedules tab — click the Schedules tab at the top of the query sidebar (next to Configuration).
- Schedules page — go to Schedules in the left sidebar to manage all schedules across all your queries in one place.
To create a schedule:
- Click + New Schedule.
- Set your Frequency (Daily or Hourly), Hour, and Time Zone.
- Select which Sheet tabs to refresh.
- Optionally, configure Email Report To to send a PDF or XLSX of the report to yourself or your clients automatically.
- Add an Error Alert email so you are notified immediately if a refresh fails.
Metric Might’s backend will now refresh your Sheet on schedule — even if your computer is off.
